Richard F. Mugford, Jr. age 88 of Eastham, formerly of Canton passed away January 4th at the Liberty Commons Skilled Care and Rehabilitation Center in Chatham. Born in Hyde Park, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Norfolk Agricultural School and was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was the former Owner and Operator of Canton Corner Service Station for many years before retiring. He previously owned and operated a coffee shop in the Orleans Post Office and worked part-time as the Assistant Harbor Master in Eastham. He has lived in Eastham for over 30 years and previously lived in Canton from 1954 to 1982. Beloved husband for 66 years of Jane C. (Rawson). Father of Barbara J. Donahue and her husband Christopher of Abington and the late Fred & Alan Mugford. Grandfather of Victoria E., Richard J., Rebecca L. Donahue all of Abington. Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 2-4 pm. Funeral service and burial private.
