Obituary

NATICK: Evelyn R. (Hardy) Burton, 87, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 1, 2017 following a period of declining health.
She was born in East Boston on August 17, 1929 the daughter of the late Charles O. Hardy and Lillian V. (Poor) Hardy.
Evelyn is survived by her devoted and beloved husband of 67 years, Stanley G. Burton of Natick. She was the loving mother of Craig S. Burton, Kathleen A. Arnold, John A. Burton, Robert W. Burton and the late Bruce A. Burton who died in 2013. Sister of Barbara Cleary. Also survived by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Evelyn spent her formative years in East Boston and has resided in Natick for the past 63 years where she raised her family.
For many years, she was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Wayland. In her earlier years, she was a cub scout leader and was active in her children and grandchildren’s activities. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and they were the center of her life. Evelyn always enjoyed being with family and caring for them.
Visitations will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland.
Her funeral services will be held at the funeral home of Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ted Crass officiating.
Interment will follow in the Burton family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
Her family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be sent to the American Heart Assoc., 30 Speen Street, Natick, MA 01760.
