POWER, Walter F. Of Hingham formerly of Needham, December 26, 2016. Beloved husband of Virginia F. (Jacques) Power. Devoted father of Walter F. “Terry” Power and his wife Marie of Jamaica Plain and Robert D. Power and his wife Rebecca of Nashua, NH. Cherished Grandfather, “Papa" of Sarah Power of Jamaica Plain, and Samuel and Georgia Power both of Nashua, NH. Pre-deceased by 1 brother and 6 sisters.
Walter worked in the Needham Public Schools as a Teacher and Principal. In retirement he was an active member of Linden Ponds in Hingham. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
Funeral Mass at Resurrection of Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ Church, 1057 Main St., Hingham, Saturday Jan. 7 at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment private.
In Lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Walter and his sister, Sister Mary Grace, to the Dominican Nuns, 1430 Riverdale St., West Springfield, MA 01089.
