Laconia------Joanne M. Greene 85, formerly of Campton, NH died Friday, December 23, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Joanne was born March 16, 1931 in Beverly, Massachusetts daughter to the late William Sr. and Katherine (McGrath) Cox. She graduated from Salem Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. Joanne then began what would be over forty years in nursing in pediatrics mainly at North Shore Pediatrics and Salem Hospital.
Joanne enjoyed spending her winters in Naples, Florida with her husband and became a member at the Royal Palm Country Club. She also was a beautiful cross stitcher and liked to play bridge. Some of her fondest memories were traveling and sailing with her husband and friends. Above all she loved to be with her family and friends. They truly meant everything to her.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas Greene of Laconia; three sons, Peter Greene of Campton, Kenneth Greene and his wife, Paula of Clearwater, FL and William "Bill" Greene and his wife, Susie of Portsmouth; two daughters, Janet Greene and Kathy Jackson and her husband, Bob Snyder of Laconia; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Mary Cox of Elk Grove Village, IL and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brother, William Cox Jr.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:30am at St. Andre Bessette Parish- Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.
Memorial services and burial will be in the family plot at Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton Massachusetts.
