Laconia------David Louis St. Gelais 65, of Fairview Street, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts surrounded by his loving family.
David was born September 18, 1951 in Manchester, New Hampshire, son of Louis and Cecile (Cormier) St. Gelais. He worked for Tangent Tool & Stamping Inc. for over 40 years, having become the president and eventually owner until it closing.
David was a busy man, he enjoyed many things and was self taught in all of them. He loved the outdoors, he gardened, camped, farmed and kept bees. He loved water skiing and boating, animals of all kinds. He also enjoyed playing the banjo and tinkering with computers.
David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan E. (Dearborn) St. Gelais, two sons, Gregory St. Gelais of Laconia and Jason St. Gelais of Meredith; a daughter, Sarah Reynolds of Laconia; seven grandchildren, Madison, Joshua and Phoebe Reynolds, Austin and Aaron St. Gelais and Owen Allen; a brother, Mark St. Gelais and his wife, Johanna of Meredith; a sister, Denise Ortakales and her husband, Tony of Laconia, several nieces and nephews and his beloved shih tzu, LuLu.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Andre-Bessette Parish -Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.
Burial will immediately follow in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
