Mrs. Anne Marie (Kelleher) Sweeney, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late Francis V. Sweeney, passed away at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. She was 82 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 12, 1934, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas J. and Grace (Sullivan) Kelleher. Anne was a graduate of the Girls Catholic High School in Malden and Emmanuel College in Boston. She had worked as a School teacher for many years. In her spare time, Anne enjoyed knitting, reading, bird watching and the Red Sox. She will be dearly missed.
Anne is survived by her loving daughters; Maura K. and her husband Peter J. Grimanis of Andover and Sheila E. Buckland of Malden, dear sister; Sr. Genevieve Kelleher, SSND, of Wilton, Connecticut and dear grandson; Andrew J. Grimanis of Andover.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex, Street, Andover on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, from 4 to 8 PM.
