Sebastian “Sabby” Ferrante passed away peacefully on December 14th, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.

Born in Medford, he was the son of the late Vincent and Concettina (Carpinteri) Ferrante.

Sabby was the beloved husband of the late Joan C. (Cotter-Hultman) Ferrante, with whom he shared many loving years of marriage. The devoted father of Paul S. Ferrante of TX, James V. Ferrante of Salem, Joanna Flynn and her husband Joseph of Billerica, Leslie Cotter and Robert Donovan of Woburn. Loving grandfather of Johanna Gehret and her husband Joseph of Billerica, Justine Flynn of CA, Jillian Flynn of Billerica, Elizabeth, Paul and Vicky Ferrante and loving great grandfather of three. He was the dear brother of Pauline Vinci of Andover and is also survived by three nieces and one nephew. He was the former husband of the late Elizabeth R. Ferrante.

Sebastian was born in Medford, Massachusetts, graduated from Northeastern University and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Civil Engineer at Dana F. Perkins for 43 years. When Sabby retired he moved to the Cape with his wife Joan. His greatest passion and joy was time spent on the beach whether it was summers on the Cape or winters in Jupiter, Florida. Sabby had such a way of embracing each day and everyone he encountered. He enjoyed so many things ~ fishing, gardening, biking, painting, kayaking, the Red Sox, darts, feeding the birds, going for walks, reading and sharing a glass of wine with his "Joanie" at the end of a wonderful beach day. He loved to sing and dance and made everyone he met feel loved. Most of all he cherished any time spent surrounded by family and friends. He always had a great big smile and made everyone feel special. Sabby had such a joy of life, made the most of each day and will truly be missed by all.
