Margaret M. "Peggy" (Duffy) Sullivan, a longtime resident of Charlestown and Billerica, entered into eternal life suddenly on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 70 years old.
Peggy was born in Boston on July 3, 1946, a daughter of the late Frederick Duffy and Mary (Leahy) Duffy. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School in 1964. Peggy worked as a Secretary for many years at both Maacom Corporation and Varian Inc. Recently she had been working as a Secretary for a Law Firm. She enjoyed interior decorating, but her most important mission in her life was taking care of her 3 sons and especially cherishing the special moments with her grandchildren.
Peggy is the devoted mother of Marc Lawrence and his wife Bettyanne, Tim Sullivan and his wife Melissa and Ryan Sullivan and his wife Ariel. She is the loving Nana to Sean, Brendan, Callie, Jake, Elsie and Quinn. She is the beloved daughter of the late Boston Firefighter Frederick Duffy and Mary (Leahy) Duffy. She is the beloved sister of Maureen Lyman, Patricia Kelley and William Duffy. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Peggy's Funeral on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan. Her visiting hours will be on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
