Obituary

Steven J. Friot, age 64 of Brockton, died on Thursday December 1, 2016 at the Brockton Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Steven was the loving husband of Kathleen A. Friot. Born and raised in Melrose, he was the son of the late Earl S. and Mary E. (O’Brian) Friot. Steven had been a Brockton resident since 1978.

A graduate of Malden Catholic High School, he also earned his Bachelor degree at Merrimack College. Steve had been a dedicated employee of his profession in the medical field. He had been the Director of Facilities for Joslin Diabetes Center, Caritas Christi Healthcare and Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital.

In his free time Steve enjoyed woodworking, stained glass making and was a member of the NRA. He loved sailboats and all light houses of New England. He was a true fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Larry Bird era of the Boston Celtics.

Steve also enjoyed the West Little League as a parent, an officer and president. He was a loving husband and father. He devoted his time to his two children in every activity or organized sport that they participated in. He was always there to support them. Each year he enjoyed going to Disney World as an annual trip with his family. His favorite time was going to the American Adventure in Epcot.

Steve loved his country and was very patriotic. He was a true friend to all that he met and will be sorely missed. Most importantly he loved his grandchildren and cherished time spent with them.

In addition to his wife Kathleen, he is survived by his children, Steven T. Friot and his wife Michelle of Alexandria, VA and Kristen M. Webb and her husband Travis of Destin, FL; and three grandchildren Brayden, Braxton and Brantley. He was the bother of Lisa Trottier and her husband Robert of Hampton Beach, NH; Joan Kritz of Lexington and the late Jean Wells of Manchester, NH. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday December 12, from 2-6pm. A private committal will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield. Donations in Steve’s name may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
