Obituary

NATICK – Gerard B. Doyle Jr., longtime Natick and Plymouth resident, passed away peacefully at Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the age of 70.

Born in Somerville, the son of the late Gerard and Katherine (Bergen) Doyle, Gerard was a 1964 graduate from Matignon High School and proudly played on the first hockey team established at Matignon. He was proud to be a Matignon Warrior. After graduation, he attended Boston College. He gained employment at the Shipley Company, LLC of Newton and Marlborough, where he dedicated 35 years working to improve the company’s surface finishing chemicals.

Dedicated father and friend, Gerard was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Despite his passion for Boston sports franchises and spending as much time as possible near the ocean in Manomet, nothing brought him more pleasure than time spent with his family. He was also proud of his Hibernian heritage and belonged to the local chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

In addition to his three sons, Christopher and his wife Deanna of Reading, Paul and his wife Nicole of Philadelphia, and Sean P. of Framingham, he is survived by his grandchildren, Madeline and Harrison, his significant other Maureen Kaufman, and his brother Peter Doyle of Newburyport. Brother to the late Mark Doyle and former husband of Margaret M. Doyle who passed away in 2004.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday, December 9th at 10:30 A.M. from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick at 11:30 A.M. Interment will follow in St Patrick Cemetery, Natick.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
