Mr. Peter Sweeney, a resident of Andover, formerly of Kingston, New Hampshire, passed away in his home on Friday, December 2, 2016. He was 60 years old.
Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, on September 21, 1956, he was the beloved son of the late Eugene and Katherine (Bonugli) Sweeney. Peter was a member of the Local 7 Iron Workers Union and had just recently retired. A greatly intelligent man, he was very artistic, creative and charismatic. Strong and tough outwardly, Peter was deeply perceptive, sensitive, and loving, but would never fail to tell you exactly what he thought. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving children; Erin A. Sweeney of Lowell and Liam P. Sweeney of Townsend, siblings; David and his wife Lisa Sweeney of Quincy, Alicia Sweeney of Mashpee, Michael and his wife Nancy of Hanover, many nieces, nephews, and cousins and his former wife Kathleen Hunt. He was also the brother of the late Paula Leahy and Jeana, Kevin and Donald Sweeney.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
