Mariann (Marletta) Carnazzo of Somerville died on Saturday, December 3, at Chilton Hospice House of Cambridge. Born and raised in Boston's West End, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Gulino) Marletta. Mariann worked for 52 years at MIT, and was a resident of Somerville for 50 years. She loved the ocean, and was devoted to her family and her faith.
Mariann was the beloved wife of Joseph Carnazzo, and the devoted mother of Frank Rosa and his Fiance Aimee Sanborne of Chelmsford. She was the loving grandmother of Juliana and Gabriella Rosa of Wilmington, and step-mother of Joseph, Jerome, Thomas, Robert, Mark, Eric, Christopher Carnazzo, and the late Michael Carnazzo. Mariann was the sister of Ida Accardi and her husband Anthony of Somerville, Joanne Marcos and her late husband Albert of Beverly, and the late Joseph Marletta. She is also survived by five loving nephews and one loving niece.
A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St, Somerville, on Monday, December 12 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, from 9 through 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
