Joseph K Kattar, Jr., 66, of Salem, New Hampshire formerly of North Andover, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, December 1st, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Joseph K. and Louise (Bashara) Kattar and was a graduate of Saint John’s University in Queens. Prior to his retirement as Clerk Magistrate in 2014, Joe celebrated a distinguished 40 year career in the Massachusetts Trial Court System.
Joe was an engaging story teller known for his resonant voice and generous heart.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Diane (Dristiliaris) Kattar of Salem, NH
His son Sam and his wife Aisling Kattar of Wakefield, MA
His daughter Kristina and her husband Jimmy Keisling of Methuen, MA
His 3 grandchildren: Nicky, Maggie and Silas
He is also survived by his sister Karen and her husband Doug Hallbauer of Methuen, MA., and his brother John David Kattar and his wife Alison of London and Aunts, Uncles, cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Monday, December 5th, 2016 from 4-7 at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Methuen, Massachusetts.
