STUART, FL – Felix P. “Phil” Meleika, Jr., 78, formerly of Oxford, died on November 18, 2016 at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, FL.
He leaves 3 children, Michael Meleika and Melissa Buys both of Stuart, FL. and Mark Meleika of the Vero Beach, FL; 2 grandsons, Connor Meleika and Trevor Buys; a sister, Rosemary Wieloch of Dudley and a nephew, John Wieloch.
He was born in Worcester and raised in Oxford, son of Felix F. Meleika and Charlotte (Korzun) Meleika. He had lived in Florida for 47 years. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1957.
He served in the navy from 1957 to 1959 aboard the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was in the Navy Reserves from 1959 to 1962. After the service, Mr. Meleika worked as a mechanic and then he owned and operated a construction business for many years before retiring.
He loved to hunt, fish and wood work in his spare time.
At his request, no funeral services were held. Donations in his name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1132, Fairfax, V A 22038. Local arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
