Rita (DiGiovanni) Guarino of Medford died on Thursday, December 1, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford. Born and raised in Boston's North End, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Menta (Cataloni) DiGiovanni.
Rita was the beloved wife of Samuel Guarino of Medford, and the devoted mother of RoseMarie DiMartino and her late husband Robert of Medford, Joyce Dente and her husband Gerald of Framingham, Mariane Ross and her husband David of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Renee DiFronzo and her husband Michael, Robert DiMartino and his wife Eileen, Dina DiMartino, Gerald Dente and his wife Rebecca, Kristopher Dente, Ryan and Marc Leonard. Rita was the loving great grandmother of Michael, Mathew, Marco, Antonio, Graziano, and the late Daniel. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, Dec. 5 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours Sunday, December 4, from 4 through 8 PM.
