Dennes P. Forsmo, 82, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Marlborough Hospital in complete peace, surrounded by his children. He was born in Madison, WI, the son of Karsten L. and Philomena J. (Ott) Forsmo, and had lived most of his life in Acton and Hudson, MA, as well as Fairfield Glade, TN.
His wife of 41 years, Mary Ellen (Mozdiez) Forsmo, passed away on May 21, 2015. He leaves his children, Glenn Dennes Forsmo of Hudson, MA, Kari Ellen Forsmo of Charlestown, MA and Kevin Kristian Forsmo and his wife, Andrea, of Groton, MA; his brother, Gary L. Forsmo and his wife, Beverly, of Twin Lakes, WI, sister-in-law Judy Forsmo of Incline Village, NV; grandchildren Ryan, Shay, Taylor, Courtney, Brittany, Gavin, and Jackson Forsmo; nephew Brian Forsmo and niece Laurel Priesgen. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Kenneth M. Forsmo.
Dennes graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and USC with a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He was a member of the NROTC and served his country in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959. Following his service, Dennes was employed by Hughes Aircraft Company for 5 years and the Raytheon Company for 30 years as an Aeronautical Engineer before retiring in 1994. He was a member of Saint John Evangelical Church in Sudbury.
A private committal service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Acton. A memorial service for Mr. Forsmo will be held on Saturday, December 10 with an 11 A.M. Memorial Liturgy at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 16 Great Road, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of personal importance to the donor. Arrangements are under the care of the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson.
