Dartmouth – Evangeline Correia, age 88 of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Manuel Correia and the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Almeida) Arruda.
Mrs. Correia was a lifelong resident of this area where she dedicated her life to the upbringing of her family. She enjoyed crocheting, attending craft shows and travelling in the RV with her husband.
She is survived by her caretaker and daughter, Sharon Lewin and her husband, Stephen, of Dartmouth, a son, Jeffrey Correia and Karen Correia, a daughter-in-law, Marion Correia of Dartmouth, as well as 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 4 children: David Correia, Sandra Perry, Manuel Correia, Jr., and Susan Correia; also predeceased by several siblings.
Everyone is invited to a Funeral Mass which will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Padanaram on Wednesday, December 14th at 10 A.M., followed by burial of her cremains in South Dartmouth Cemetery. A special thank you to the nurses of Beacon Hospice Lyn and Leah and Patricia DeMello of Medical Resources for their dedicated and loving care in her final years.
