NATICK: Catherine A. (Denty-Connors) McElhinney, age 45, a longtime Natick resident currently of Marlborough, died peacefully at Brigham & Women’s Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2016.
Born in Norwood and raised in Dover, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Bailey) Connors of Marlborough and the late Robert Connors. Cathy was a 1989 graduate of Dover-Sherborn High School and continued her education at the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. She worked in retail throughout her life, predominantly at Roche Bros in Natick, BJ’s Wholesale Club in Framingham, and most recently, Ocean State Job Lot in Marlborough.
Cathy married shortly after high school and settled in Natick to start a family. She was a devoted and loving mother to her three sons, always available despite her various work schedules. She was reacquainted with her high school sweetheart, Dennis J. McElhinney in 2013, and the two have been inseparable since. They traveled extensively with their families throughout the country, enjoying new experiences and each other’s company. Dennis and Cathy were married by a chaplain at Mass General Hospital last month.
In addition to Dennis and her mother, Cathy is survived by her sons, Edward Denty, Phillip Denty, and Aiden Denty; her siblings, George Connors and his wife Jen of NH, Bobby Connors, and Peter Connors and his wife Kathy, all of Mansfield, and Ellen Ringler and her husband Bill of Attleboro; Dennis’ children Patrick, Kimberlin, and Brendon McElhinney, all of Colorado Springs. She was the sister of the late Daniel Connors.
Her funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Friday, December 2nd at 9:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, 4 – 7PM.
