Bruce Alfred Collins died on November 27, 2016. He was a resident of Ventura for almost 50 years. He was born in Butte, Montana in 1934.
His life’s work has been to teach the APPRECIATION of World Literature, Poetry, Theatre, Music, Movies and the Arts. After retiring from Ventura College in 1994, he continued lecturing and teaching courses for Road Scholar aka Elderhostel and OLLI at CSUCI, and others. He was actively teaching and writing his poetry until his death. He will be remembered for his energy, kindness, and wit.
He is survived by his spouse, Johanna; his brother, Bill; five children, Ange Collins, Claire McCall, Robert Collins, Evan Allen, and Sally Collins; eight grandchildren, Ian, Jack, Brian, Hikaru, Colin, Bronwyn, Dylan and Morgan. And he is much beloved and missed by Norman, Jon, Christine, and Grace.
