Obituary

Karen (Henneberg) Manning, 51, of Medway, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by family, friends and her beloved dog Benji after a courageous five-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was the wife of Joseph T. Manning. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Dorothea (Coates) Henneberg of Novia Scotia and the late Helmut H. Henneberg of Germany.

Karen was much loved and will be deeply missed by her family. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by the light of her life, her daughter Kayla Sadie Manning (11) of Medway, her sister Kristina Henneberg and her husband Brian Kochanowski of Norfolk, her brother Kurt Henneberg of Milford, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karen was a resident of Medway for the past 16 years. She graduated from Canton High School and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from UMass-Amherst. Karen had a long career in the health care insurance industry, holding senior analytical and medical economics management positions at BCBS of RI, Harvard Pilgrim, Partners Healthcare and Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center. Karen also served as a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Wrentham for 20 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, December 1 from 5 - 7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Karen’s family requests that donation be made in her memory to the Kayla Sadie Manning Education Fund, c/o Charles River Bank, 70 Main St., Medway, MA 02053.
