Obituary

Bernardino Stabile, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23rd, surrounded by his loving family. He was 94.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Enrico and Elvira (Bamonte) Stabile. After high school, "Bernie began his career with the Federal Government in 1942 when he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. For twenty-eight years, he served his country honorably---ultimately earning the rank of Sergeant Major. He fought admirably in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He earned many notable medals including: the Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and the National Defense Service Medal. Following his retirement from the USMC, Bernie began a new career with the U.S. Secret Service in 1973. He was the Operations Support Technician in the Boston Field Office." In addition to his love for his country, he was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered as the most caring, selfless and loving man his family had ever known.

Bernie was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Lucia) Stabile, who passed away in 2015. He was the loving brother of Dolly Foley and her late husband John Joseph, the late Amelia Puopolo, Annette Brunson, Nicholas Stabile and Alphonso Stabile. The dear uncle of, David M. Foley, Sr., Jack Joseph Foley and his wife Chris, Stephen John Foley, Shane T. Foley, Shawn Foley, David M. Foley, Jr., Ryan J. Foley and his wife Carol, Larissa Foley and the late Stephen R. Foley and many more loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford on Friday, December 9th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Services will conclude with interment and military honors at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
