Obituary

Agnes B. (Cady) Shaughnessy, 103, of Medway died on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of William J. Shaughnessy who died in 1975.

Born in Newton on March 9, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Brigid (Keanuffee) Cady.

Mrs. Shaughnessy grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School. She resided in Waltham for many years until moving to Medway in 2001.

Before her retirement, she worked at New England Telephone Co. for 42 years.

Mrs. Shaughnessy was a life member of the Pioneers and was an avid reader and liked to travel.

She is survived by her son William “Kevin” Shaughnessy and his wife Christine of Atlanta, GA, three daughters, Ellen B. Trumbour of Hudson, Carol A. Niedbala of Medway and Sara M. Konowicz and her husband Robert of Brewster, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late John, Mary, Sara, Katherine and Margaret.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Thursday morning, December 1 at 9 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Medway Friends of Elders, 76 Oakland St., Medway, MA 02053.
