Pittsfield----Marion Frances Harris, 87, of Vintage Hill Assisted Living Home, former longtime resident of Gilford, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 25, 2016 at Concord Hospital.
Marion was born June 27, 1929 in Gilford, daughter to the late Arthur Charles Sr. and Muriel (Rand) Harris. She was a graduate of Laconia High School, Houghton College of Houghton, NY, and Plymouth College of Plymouth, NH. She taught in Laconia at Mechanic Street School for many years and was the acting principal until its closing. Marion then went on to teach at Woodland Heights Elementary School until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a longtime active member of Life Quest Church in Laconia.
Marion enjoyed helping people and did so not only through her 37 years of teaching,but also at her church. She continually shared the Gospel with others throughout her life. She also loved traveling and being with family.
Marion is survived by two nephews, Steven Roberts and his wife Gayle of Weare, and Ty Harris and his wife Heidi of Greene, NY; four nieces, Marilyn Roberts of Pittsfield, Janice Roberts of Dublin, Marcia Bell and her husband Steven of Gilford, and Dawn Mitchell and her husband Peter of Oregon; two brothers -in-law, Julian King of Gilford and William Roberts of Concord; a sister-in-law, Susan Harris of Gilford, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brother, Arthur Charles Harris Jr. and her two sisters Esther King and Arlene Roberts.
Calling Hours will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage Houseentrance.
A Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00am at Life Quest Church, 115 Court Street, Laconia, NH.
Burial will at 2:00pm in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
