Obituary

Anthony A. Cerbo, 91, of Walpole, died on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Harrington House in Walpole. He was the beloved husband of Mary L. (Flaherty) Cerbo who died in 2008.

Born in Walpole on August 27, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Camilla (Fallone) Cerbo.

Mr. Cerbo was a lifelong resident of Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School.

He proudly served in the Army during WWII.

Before his retirement in 1987, he worked for the New England Telephone Co. for 35 years. After retirement he worked at Hub Grinding in Walpole until just this past July.

Mr. Cerbo was a member of the Italian American Club in Walpole, the Knights of Columbus and the Walpole High School Alumni Assoc. He worked at the Walpole Town Elections and volunteered at Blessed Sacrament Church for many years.

He is survived by two sons James Cerbo and Christopher Cerbo, both of Walpole, a sister Mary Robinson of New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Angelina Repani, Joseph Giandomenico, Florence Mattson, Leo Giandomenico, Frances Gulla, Irene Bonifazi and Verino Giandomenico.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, December 1 from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond St. in Walpole at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Walpole.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Knights of Columbus, Walpole Council #1319, 137 Stone St., Walpole, MA 02081.
