Virginia Geraldine Smith, 89 of Winder, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Roswell Nursing and Rehabilitation in Roswell, Georgia after an extended illness.
Born on November 19, 1927 to the late Maurice Elzie and Eula Von Payne Shehee, she was a homemaker and seamstress. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Winder, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband, Linton Smith, Sr. of Winder; son, Steve Smith, Jr. of Bethlehem; brother, Herman Elzie Shehee; sisters, Sandra Johnson of Ashburn and Athelene Rainey of Lawrenceville; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Haun.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery in Turner County. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
