Rosaria "Rose" Palmieri died at the Sawtelle Hospice House of Reading on Tuesday morning. She was 87. Raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Filippa (Baglio) Marino. As a young woman, she won a local beauty contest and won the title "Miss Medford". She studied hair dressing and worked at a local salon and then for many years taught at the Melrose Beauty Academy. Rose was a loving mother, wife and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Remo Palmieri, she was a devoted mother of Robert Palmieri and his girlfriend Linda Olson of Medford, Richard Palmieri and his wife Susan of Billerica, Rosemarie Bonfiglio and her husband Robert of Billerica. She leaves her loving grandchildren: Sam, Christina, Melissa, Richard, Robert, Jamie Lee, Diana, Maria and Nicholas. She was a loving great-grandmother to Sophia, Adriana, Mia, Gianni, Dominic and Giana. She was the dear sister of Phyllis Aurigemma of Tewksbury and Helen MacKinnon of Wilmington.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday November 26 at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4–8PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel Hill, Malden.
