Sara “Suddi” J. Sclafani died peacefully at her Woburn home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday evening. She was 92. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Giuseppina (Turco) Zarba. A Woburn resident for many years, she worked for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue until her retirement. She also enjoyed helping out at her daughter’s hair salon in Stoneham, Snips.
The beloved wife of the late Joseph V. “Red” Sclafani, she was a devoted mother to Sandra Pascucci and her husband John of Stoneham, JoAnn Cerasoli and her husband Bob of Quincy, Paula Ferrara and her husband Steve of Braintree, Jodi Pietroforte and her husband Carl of Florida, Donna Sclafani of Woburn. She was a loving grandmother to Marla Pascucci – Burns, Thomas Arcadipane, Gia Anderson, Robert Cerasoli, Carla Pierson, Kacy Maitland, and CJ Pietroforte and was a loving great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Rose Sanseverino, Diego, Phil, and Michael Zarba.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn on Saturday, November 26 from 9:30 to 11 AM with a funeral mass celebrated at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
