Obituary

Joseph D. Walsh, of Norton formerly of Canton passed away November 20th at home surrounded by his loving family, he was 83. Born and raised in Dorchester he attended Dorchester public schools, graduating from Dorchester High School. Joe and his wife Audrey resided in Canton for 31 years where they raised their 4 children. Joe worked for the MBTA as a Power Dispatcher for many years before his retirement. The Walsh’s moved to Norton 18 years ago, where Joe loved spending time working in his yard. Joe and his wife loved getting together for monthly dinners with their longtime friends. Joe enjoyed the game of football, he watched every level from High School to Professional. Family and friends loved his keen wit and his ability to make them laugh. No matter what health challenges he faced his resilience was unparalleled. Beloved husband of 60 years of Audrey I. (Matt). Father of Joseph M. Walsh and his wife Mary of Norton, Gregory T. Walsh and his fiancé Cathy Harte of Bridgewater, Karen M. Walsh of Attleboro and Michael P. Walsh and his wife Jodie of Stoughton. Brother of Kay Glennon of Wareham and the late Barbara Walsh, Ann Clark, and Peggy Schultz. Grandfather of Megan and Matt DiVenere, Caitlin Walsh, Gregory and Melissa Walsh and Brendan and Jillian Walsh. Great grandfather of Grace DiVenere. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday afternoon at 1 pm. Visiting hours prior to the service from 11 am to 1 pm. Burial private. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
