Rose Marie DeMattia passed away peacefully at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Friday. She was 96. A life-long Medford resident she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Maria (Indingaro) Luongo. A life-long Medford resident, Rose was a loving wife, mother and nana. A devout woman, she was active at St. Clement Parish where she enjoyed many wonderful friendships throughout the years.
The beloved wife of the late Chester DeMattia, she was a devoted mother to Carol Deady of Medford and Johanne Mazzeo of Malden. She was an adored nana to four grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and is predeceased by four brothers and one sister.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, November 22 at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home, Monday 4 – 8 PM.
