Anthony Barboza, Jr., age 61 of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.
He was the beloved husband of Pamela J. (Ouellette) Barboza.
Anthony was born in New Bedford a son of Margaret P. (Perry) Barboza of New Bedford and the late Anthony Barboza, Sr. Son in law of Dorothy and Roland Ouellette of Taunton.
Before retirement in 2015, Mr. Barboza was employed as a truck driver for over 41 years.
Mr. Barboza served with the National Guard 772 MP Battalion and with the RI National Guard 1207 Transportation Division. He enjoyed drag racing and fishing, and was a member of the Portuguese –American Civic Club and former member of Atlantic Fish Club. Above all his favorite was spending time with his grandkids.
Besides his wife and mother, Anthony is survived by his children, Nicole Barboza of Lewisville TX, Justin Leal of Taunton, Brendan Leal and wife Colleen of Wareham, Erin Nelson and husband Mark of Lewisville TX, brother of Troy Barboza of Wilmington, NC, Leonard Barboza, Serena Barboza and Ann Marie Barboza all of New Bedford. Grandfather of Nathanial Barbosa, Maliah Barbosa, Natalya Nelson, Kiara Nelson, And Nicholas Nelson all of Louisville, TX and Emily Leal, Jace Sullivan of Wareham and Jayden LePore of Brockton. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his godparent Dorothy Barros of East Taunton. Anthony was the brother of the late Mia Correa, Kim Barboza and was the godson of the late George Barboza.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church, School St. Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, (TODAY) November 20th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton.
