Obituary


John J. Letellier, of Billerica formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully, November 15, 2016, at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, following a period of declining health. He was 90 years of age. John was the beloved husband of Mary L. (Taylor); together they shared seventy years of marriage. Born in Cambridge he was one of twelve children of the late Albert J. and Margaret T. (O/Brien) Letellier

John was raised and educated in Cambridge. He honorably served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII in the Pacific Theater transporting troops. He was a proud Veteran. When John returned home he began working at the Deran's Confectionary Co. in Cambridge. He worked there for 25 years as a supervisor. He then went to work as a truck driver for the Industrial Stainless Steel Co. in Cambridge and retired from there in 1987. John always liked to stay busy and was a true handyman around his home. He also enjoyed raising and caring for Rolling Pigeons, something he did with his father as a young boy. However, his greatest joy was his family and he liked nothing more than to be together with them and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he adored.

John was the devoted father of Laura Pucillo and her husband Michael of Billerica, and the late Patricia Cahil. Loving grandfather of Michael Pucillo and wife Lora, Mark Pucillo and wife Cheryl, Kevin Pucillo and wife Kerry, Lauri Belkus and husband Ricky, Jay Pucillo and wife Michelle. He also survived by thirteen loving great grandchildren. Brother of Agnes Reid of NJ, Barbara Marsh of Tewksbury, Mary McMahon, Nora Branscomb, Carol Taylor, all of Wilmington, the late Margaret McClintic, Loretta Kenny, Helen White, Joseph, Edward and Robert Letellier.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Saturday, Nov. 19th, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 3 thru 7 p.m. Interment services with military honors will be held at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, MA on Monday, November 28th, at 11 a.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KA 66675.
