Obituary

Bertha M. Pace 97, formerly of Chester St. died November 14, 2016 at the Ballou Home. She was the wife of the late Marco Pace. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Henri and Georgianna (Cormier) Picard Sr. Mrs. Pace was a twister for several area textile mills. She also worked as an assembler at General Electric and then retired in 1986 from American Tourister. Bertha enjoyed playing cards and going to the casinos.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond V. Pace and his wife Lorraine and Richard H. Pace and his wife Helene all of Woonsocket; a brother Henri Picard Jr of Nasonville; a sister Beatrice Plante of Woonsocket; two grandchildren, Cheryl Desmarais and her husband Emile of Harrisville, and Keith Pace and his wife Nicki of Johnston; and four great-grandchildren Collin, Jillian, Kennedie, and McKenna. She was predeceased by her siblings Edmund Picard, Noella Beaudet, and Eva Dufresne.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 PM.
