Maria C. (Martins) Pimental, age 88 of Taunton, passed away on November 14, 2016 at Brockton Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Pimental.
Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores a daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Pacheco) Martins .
She had moved to the United States in February of 1967.
Before retirement, Maria was employed with the former Frank Noone Shoe Co for over 20 years. She enjoyed crochet, knitting working in her garden, planting flowers, traveling and trips to the casino. Most of all she loved any time she could spend with her family.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Pimental and his wife Grace, Maria Costa and her husband Anthony, Elizabeth Resendes and her husband Joseph and Matilda Pimental all of Taunton. Sister of Urbano Martins of New Bedford , Maria Leonora Stone and Maria Graziela Teixeira both of Taunton. Grandmother of 9, great-grandmother of 5.
She was also the sister of the late Sebastian, Manuel, Jose, Joao, Antonio, Mariano Rosa, Christina and Carolina.
Mrs. Pimental’s funeral will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 9 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Jude the Apostle Church Whittenton St, Taunton. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 17th from 4 to 7 pm.
