Frances A. Gately age 73 formerly of Canton, of Braintree passed away November 12th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norwood, she was raised in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School and Boston College Nursing School. She worked as an RN and Compliance Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health for many years. She previously lived in Stoughton and Canton for many years before moving to Braintree. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Devoted mother of Maryann Post of Skillman, NJ, Patrick Gately of Downingtown, PA and Bridget Gately of Braintree. Sister of Mary Gately of Walpole, Paul Gately of Canton and the late John Gately. Also survived by 5 wonderful grandchildren. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Saturday morning at 11. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 pm. Burial private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the South Shore 30 Reservoir Park Dr. Rockland, MA 02370.
