Joseph M. Gorton of Derry passed away on November 8th, 2016 at Umass in Worcester. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Although Joe was only 27, he made an impression on many lives. His upbeat personality and strong willingness to please others came natural to him. With a heart of gold, Joe would always be sure to put others before himself.
Joseph attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. He enjoyed fishing, sports and spending time with his family. He loved listening to music and spent many summers with his family up at the river in Lincoln NH where as a child he would catch fish with a can and string.
Joe is survived by his devoted parents Mike Gorton and Laurie (Todd), sister Tayler Gorton, son Jeyden Gorton of Derry, NH along with many other family and friends. Joseph will forever remain in our hearts.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Monica's, 212 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA on Wednesday, November 16 at 11:00 AM. Internment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell St, Methuen, MA. Mercy meal to follow at The Tuscan Kitchen, 67 Main St, Salem, NH at 2:00 PM.
