NATICK: Maria (Christodoulou) Andreou, age 74, a longtime Natick resident, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. She was the devoted wife of the late Alexander Andreou.
Born in Napy-Lesvos, Greece, Maria was a daughter of the late Efstratios and Eleni (Kapetana) Christodoulou. She was raised and educated in Greece and came to New York as a young woman. She and Alex married in New York, started their family, and then settled in Natick 46 years ago.
Maria was a wonderful cook and particularly excelled as a baker. She enjoyed tending her gardens and getting together with family and friends, especially at holiday gatherings.
Predeceased by Alexander in 2008, Maria is survived by two sons, Peter Andreou of Natick, and Charles Andreou and his wife Ana of Lithia, FL; her grandchildren, Victoria and Alexander; a brother, Michael Christodoulou and his wife Vasso of NY; and two sisters, Morfoula Zouras and her husband Philip of NY; and her sister, Kalliope Kardara of Greece.
Her funeral service will be held in Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown Street, Weston, on Monday, November 14th at 11:00AM Relatives and friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00AM. Burial will be at Dell Park Cemetery, Natick.
