Obituary

Mr. Fred Leon Boucher, Jr., beloved husband of Nancy (Buggea) Boucher, died November 8, 2016 in Lawrence.

Born on October 4, 1927 and raised in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Fred Boucher Sr. and Florida Boucher. He attended parochial schools in Lawrence and graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1945. He was active in the St. Anne’s Crusaders drum corps. He entered the U.S. Army Specialized Training program at the University of Connecticut and subsequently served in Japan during the occupation following World War II as an official army photographer attaining the rank of sergeant. After discharge he attended the Progressive School of Photography in New Haven, CT. Upon completion, he operated the Back-Bay Photography Studio in Lawrence. In 1950, he returned to college and continued engineering courses. He began working in the engineering department of the Andrew Wilson Company as a sales engineer and was subsequently promoted to manager of the Boston branch office. He was a member of Sales Marketing Executives and served as president of the Merrimack Valley Chapter from 1966 to 1968. In 1975, he started his own business which operated as The Equipment Company in Nashua, NH until he retired in 1992.

He was a member of the Mount Carmel Parish in Methuen, MA where he was active in the PTA and Holy Name Society.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Nancy (Buggea); four sons, Fred III and his wife Mary of North Andover, Dennis and his wife Sara of Windham, NH, Michael and his partner Niece of Andover and David and his wife Mary Ann of Methuen; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Lucy’s Parish, Merrimack Street, Methuen. Private entombment will follow at a later date at the St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum, Barker Street, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Fred's memory to the charity of one’s choice.
