NORTH ANDOVER - Gabrielle A. “Gail” (Rheaume) Earley, 98, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Lawrence General Hospital following complications from surgery.
The daughter of the late Phillias and Cordelia (Morin) Rheaume , Gabrielle was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Joseph E. Earley who passed away in 1994. She leaves two daughters, Linda Greene and her husband Mark of Sterling, MA, and Jane Desmond and her husband James of Dracut, MA as well as five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by five siblings and is survived by her sister Helen Sirois of Pennsylvania. Gabrielle also leaves her devoted niece, Norma Riley and very special friends, Pauline Kahlil, Claudia DeFuria and Jeannie Rizzo.
Born in Salem, MA, Gabrielle was educated at Sacred Heart Grammar School and Lawrence High School. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and in later years worked at the IRS in Andover. Gabrielle was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church in North Andover as well as a very active participant at the North Andover Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, knitting, doing crafts and socializing with friends. Spending time with her family was also something she greatly enjoyed, especially being in the company of her great grandchildren. Gabrielle showed kindness to everyone and was highly independent with an unfailing positive outlook on life.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. in St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main St., North Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday morning prior to the mass from 10 to 11 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack St., North Andover, MA.
