Savage, Margaret (Jennings) 89 of Needham, formerly of Humarock, West Roxbury and Roslindale, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Tippett House in Needham. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Richard J. Savage; her five children Joseph Savage of Goffstown, NH, Martha Winston and her husband Stephen of Walpole, Richard Jr. and his wife Kristin of Needham, David and his wife Regina of Holliston, and Meg McGinn of Natick; thirteen grandchildren, James Savage, Caitrina Savage, Richard III, Christopher Savage, Nicholas Savage, Andrew Savage, Owen Savage, Keara Savage, Mikaela Savage, Liam Savage, Ethan Savage, Sam McGinn, and Peter McGinn; and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy of Hingham and lived most of her life in Needham. She was a member of the Birds Hill Cultural Society, a faithful member of St Bartholomew's parish and Guild, a den mother, and a Girl Scout Leader. Margaret was an avid cook and knitter but most of all she enjoyed the company of friends, family, and neighbors.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA on Friday Nov. 11 at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew Church in Needham at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Needham.
