Walter R. Locke of Canton, formerly of Dorchester and his beloved Forest Hills, passed away peacefully November 1, 2016. He was 81 years old and surrounded by those he loved most. Walter was a proud Marine Corp Veteran and member of the Boston Police Mounted Patrol Unit. After retiring from the Boston Police Department Walter then worked as an employee for the Boston Globe for several years. “Wally” was a devoted and caring husband of 54 years to his beloved Sarah “Sally” P. Locke (Ford) of Canton. Proud and loving father of his four adoring children; Michael Locke and his wife Therese of Norwell, Cheryl Cotugno and her husband Matthew of Dedham, Sandra Mackie and her husband Robert of Canton, Tracey Clogher and her husband Matthew of Canton. Loving brother of his two cherished sisters, Barbara Howard of Norton and D. Jean McManus of Foxboro. Proud grandfather to his 9 doting grandchildren, who will always lovingly remember him as “Papa”. Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St., Canton Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 2-6 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St., Canton Monday at 10 AM. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
