Dartmouth – Dorothy A. Santos, age 71, passed away on Monday October 31, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of 50 years to Ronald J. Santos and the daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy (Braga) Ricardo.
Dorothy was born in Dartmouth, spent all her life in this area and worked as a Home Health Care Provider for St. Luke’s as well as in the medical records department. Dorothy was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, with her loving husband and shopping with her daughter, Lisa and great granddaughter, Jordynne.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Santos of Dartmouth; 2 children: Michael Santos and his companion, Sherri DeMello, and Lisa Cabral and her husband, John; 4 grandchildren: Michael Santos, Jr., who was like a son to her, and his companion, Jessica Fernandes, Nathan Santos, Sarah Santos and Neko Cabral; great grandchildren: Jordynne Santos and Michael Santos III; siblings: Michael Ricardo and his wife, Robin, Jeanne Faria, Cindy Aguiar, Janice Harrison, Susan St. Pierre and Laurie Ricardo; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her siblings: Richard Ricardo and Deborah Ricardo.
Dorothy will be cremated. Burial of her cremated remains will take place in South Dartmouth Cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
