DONOVAN, Joseph B. Of Newton, October 26, 2016. Former husband of the late Joan (Thurston) Donovan. Devoted father of of Chris Donovan, Peter Donovan and his wife Su of CA, Kevin Donovan and his wife Aimee of Hingham, Joey Donovan of Newton, Melinda Grieco and her husband Brett of Danvers, and Catherine Zelano and her husband Tony of Warwick, RI. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Brother of Eleanor Driscoll and her husband David of Boston and the late Arthur and Mark Donovan.
Graduate of Brookline High School and Dartmouth College. Joe was big into antique cars and won many awards for his cars.
A visitation will be held in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 5 Linden Pl., Brookline, Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10-11am followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 990 LaGrange St., West Roxbury.
