URELL Elke of Weston/Wayland (daughter of Annemarie Charlotte and Willy Hans Krohn) passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at home with her family and loved ones by her side on October 5, 2016.
Elke was born in Germany in 1936 and came to this country in 1958. She was a long time resident of Weston, Massachusetts; a professional Nanny who had worked in Switzerland and Sweden before coming to the USA; all the children she cared for over the years loved Elke as much as she loved them.
She enjoyed being a full-time mother and homemaker, traveling around the world, and especially traveling around the country. She was happiest spending time at her summer home in Alton Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire.
Elke was the wife of the late Alan Urell and is survived by her children Karen (of Waltham), Heide (of Waltham), Alan (of Weston), David and daughter-in-law Katherine (of Weston), grandchildren Noah, Toby, Chris and Alison, her mother-in-law Rose Marie Urell, her little four-legged grand-dog Billie, her sister-of-the-heart Barbara Crowley, numerous family members and dear friends in Germany and the USA.
Burial will be private; the family requests that donations be made to the MSPCA, the USO or the charity of one’s choice.
