Obituary

Brian A. DiScenza of Charlestown formerly of Andover on Tuesday September 27, 2016, at age 65 from complications after a battle with Multiple System Atrophy-Parkinson’s. Born in Amsterdam, NY, the son of the late Frank and Chloe (Ireland) DiScenza. Brian earned a degree at Boston University and went on to work at BU’s Mugar Library for 42 years before leaving on disability in 2015.
Brian leaves his wife of 37 years Joyce Hannan of Charlestown, his sister Suzanne DiScenza of Albany, NY, brother Dean of Hagaman, NY and a half sister Heather Lee of Amsterdam, NY.
He also leaves several nieces and a nephew and many dear cousins.
A man of few words but dry wit, Brian was an avid reader, a gourmet cook and a lover of classical music who doted on our dog and cats over the years.
The family wishes to thank all his therapists and caregivers especially those from VNA Boston as well as the team at the Harborview residence in Charlestown.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 11 am at West Parish Chapel, 210 Lowell Street, Andover and internment will follow at West Parish Garden Cemetery. For additional information, please visit, www.burkemagliozzi.com.
