Obituary

NATICK: Helen M. (Arnott) Marckini, age 79, of Hudson, formerly of Natick, died peacefully on Thursday morning, September 15, 2016. Raised in North Cambridge, Helen was the daughter of the late John Alexander Arnott and Rollande (DesMeules) Arnott.

A graduate of Our Lady of Pity School in Cambridge, Helen continued her education at the Labouré School of Nursing and earned a B.S. from St. Joseph College in Maine. Helen’s distinguished career as an RN and nursing supervisor spanned nearly forty years, including years at Mount Auburn and Youville hospitals. For the last twelve years of her career, Helen worked for the MA Dept. of Public Health as a nursing home inspector. A woman of fine tastes, Helen was a patron of the arts, an avid gardener, and a prolific knitter. A life-long cat-lover, she was the devoted mother of her silken Siamese, Sylvia.

Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Leslie Arnott, and Leslie’s husband John Porell. Predeceased by her brother, Major John Arnott, U.S. Army, Ret., she leaves behind her niece, Joley Arnott of VA, and her uncle, Joseph DesMeules of VT.
