Marion M. (Vangel) Christi, age 84, of Northborough, died surrounded by her loving family early on Sunday morning, September 18, 2016, at the Holliston home of her son Peter. She was the devoted wife of Peter D. Christi, who died in 2014.
Born in New Bedford and raised primarily in Framingham, Marion was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Demetrie) Vangel. She was a graduate of Framingham High School. She and Peter were married on June 1, 1952, and made their home in Framingham for the next thirty years.
Marion enjoyed working, keeping busy, and meeting people. As her children entered their teen years, she began work in the sales area of Filene’s in Natick. Finding that her interest lay more in the way of technology, she became employed with American Optical. Marion became skilled at producing electronic circuit boards and was to ply her talent at Raytheon, Digital, Valpey Fisher, and ultimately A C Technology, from whom she retired at age 78.
A resident of Hopkinton for many years prior to settling in Northborough five years ago, Marion enjoyed keeping her homes and gardens, dancing the jitterbug with Peter, socializing with friends, and doting on her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie J. Travis and her husband Henry of Northborough; two sons, Peter J. Christi and Roberta of Holliston, and Mark S. Christi of Northborough; grandchildren Stephan, Demetrius, and Jessie, and great-grandson Bobby; an aunt, Rose Wright; uncles Thomas “Mac” Vogel, and Andrew Vogel; her sisters-in-law, Krisanthi Peters and Katherine Bishop; nieces, nephews and their families, and many dear friends.
Her funeral will be held in the Albanian Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 37 Washington Street, Natick, on Saturday, September 24th at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at Dell Park Cemetery.
