Doris E. Petrell, 69, of Port St. Lucie, Florida died February 2, 2013 at Treasure Coast Hospice, in Fort Pierce, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Petrell. She was born and raised in Plymouth and initially moved to Port St. Lucie in 1988 before settling there in 2006.
She was a Medical Transcriptionist, having worked in hospitals and at home. Doris had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed playing cards and scrabble, watching horror movies, writing poetry when she was younger, dining out, playing slots at the arcade, traveling and especially spending time with her beloved family.
Ms. Petrell is survived by her sons, Richard Travassos of West Barnstable; Stephen Travassos of Plymouth; daughters, Lisa Travassos-Frasier of Middleboro and Elizabeth Petrell of Port St. Lucie, FL; brother, Charles Petrell of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters Linda Pederzani of Plymouth, Patricia Howe of Fort Pierce, FL and Susan Parry of Fort Pierce, FL and her five grandchildren; Brendon, Cameron, Emma and Julia Travassos and Ariana Petrell-Thomas.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 AM with a funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 16th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) at 11 AM followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Plymouth.
