Augusta, GA – Dorothy Steed Gibbs, 82, wife of the late Harold Eugene Gibbs, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 28, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Gibbs was a lifelong resident of Grovetown and was an accounting technician with Civil Service at Fort Gordon for 34 years. She was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church where she served as church administrator and in many other capacities over the years.
Mrs. Gibbs leaves behind her sons: Ronald E. Gibbs (Mary Ann) of Grovetown, Kevin J. Gibbs (Laura) of Burleson, TX; her daughters: Lynda G. Parker (Pete) of Grovetown, Barbara G. Napier (Jimmy) of Grovetown, Deborah G. Joiner (Wayne) of Martinez; grandchildren: Cara G. Mober, Jennifer G. Holmes, Travis C. Gibbs, Missi B. Fountain, Marci B. Cauthen, Molli B. Mobley, Aubree L. Gibbs, Ann Marie Kamppi, Ryan B. Gibbs, Chad E. Parker, Traci P. Torres, Jason L. Napier, Jonathan E. Napier, Justin E. Napier, Allen W. Joiner, Brad S. Joiner, Lindsay J. Bui; and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Jimmy Napier officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chad E. Parker, Allen W. Joiner, Jason L. Napier, Travis C. Gibbs, Jonathan E. Napier, Brad S. Joiner, Justin E. Napier, and Ryan B. Gibbs.
The family would like to express deepest appreciation to Lisa Adams, Alisa Parker and to Trinity Hospice for the loving care they extended to our mother during the past year.
