Obituary

THOMPSON - Mary Jane (McDonald) LeBlanc, 49, of 145 Wagher Road in North Grosvenordale, CT, died Sunday, April 6, in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home Saturday.

She leaves her husband of 27 years, Richard E. LeBlanc; three children, Jennifer Elizabeth LeBlanc of Manassas, VA, and Jonathan Edmund LeBlanc and Marjorie Rose LeBlanc, both at home; three sisters, Elaine M. McDonald of Cranston, RI, Karen L. Hoffer of Manassas, VA and Gail McDonald Jordan of Waltham; nieces and nephews.

She was born in Waltham on Sept. 8, 1958, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the oldest daughter of John and Evelyn (Parkinson) McDonald. She was raised in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School in 1976 and completed her studies as a registered nurse at Mass. Bay Community College in Wellesley in 1979. She moved to Webster in 1980 and then to her present home in 1988.

Mrs. LeBlanc was a registered nurse at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster for over 25 years, and was still working at the time of her death.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster and its Ladies of Saint Anne. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and making crafts. She won several prizes for her work at the annual Woodstock Fair.

The funeral will be held Thursday, April 10, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours are from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 9, at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or donations made to the Mary Jane LeBlanc Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Peter-Marian Central Catholic High School, 781 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
