Obituary

Mrs. Tiney Flippin Montgomery, 89, loving wife of 67 years to the late James Calvin Montgomery went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
She was born on July 1, 1922 in Stokes County to the late Lossie and Jettie Hundley Flippin. She retired after 25 years from Wesley's Business Forms. An active member of Asbury Pentecostal Holiness Church, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Tiney was a wonderful Christian example for not only her family but for all who knew and loved her. She is survived by one son, Michael Montgomery of Germanton; one daughter, Joan (Peter) Hazlett of Charleston, SC; Granddaughter, Lisa Ryan of Wilmington, NC; great grandchildren Chase, Stephanie, Maggie and Samuel; and one great great granddaughter Sadie Kate. She is also survived by brothers, Paul (Mary) Flippin and Wesley (Reva) Flippin. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Clyde, Richard and infant brother Morris; and sisters, Versie Johnson, Vivian Watson, Rachel Huey and Ruth Simmons. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Asbury Pentecostal Holiness Church at 5:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Officiating the service will be Paster Dwayne Lester, her brother the Rev. Wesley Flippin, her niece Nancy Speaks and the Rev. James Williams. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask memorials be made to Asbury Pentecostal Holiness Church, c/o Fay Williams, 1386 Flippin Rd, Mt. Airy, NC 27030
